Are you passionate about creating a product that can streamline everyday tasks and make people feel better? Do you love and appreciate beautifully designed products? If you are, you and I share the same interests, and the stories I am about to tell might be interesting to you, and I might even be able to help your company do this right and help you build a brand that people love and become fans of your products.
I am Jongho Nho, and I love creating beautiful product designs with a buttery experience by using various design methodologies, collaborations, strategies, and processes. After long years of practicing industrial design, I learned to cater design processes based on project size, requirements, needs, limitations, time constraints, and many more. It led me to develop several robust design processes and methods that could work for most hardware design project.
One of my favorite ways to bring the best ideas to life is to collaborate, iterate, and wear different hats when possible to guide the project and the team on the right path at the right speed. Also, aligning and sharing my thoughts and progress with team members on a regular cadence is critical to avoid misunderstandings or underdelivering. Most importantly, all members of the hardware project need to be aware of the financial cost limitation and be more frugal and rigorous throughout all phases of the product development to create a financially viable product.
My love for observation and a habit of analyzing problems and solutions has led me to find untapped opportunities and challenges throughout my life. One of my strengths as an industrial designer is my hand-sketching ability. I use it to capture the nuance of the form and function whenever possible. For example, during an intense discussion with a client, I sketched a rough sketch of the fire and security panel concept on a large newsprint with a red and black sharpie to help visualize what our design team intends to create. When I showed the hand sketch, it stopped the argument about whether they should implement unrealistic concept design to their tried and true product form factor because it showed them what is possible even with a strict set of requirements.
Currently, I am an industrial design lead at Mason USA in Seattle. I am fortunate to have an opportunity to work with a high-tech startup that provides mobile infrastructure software and hardware platform for various ISVs and enterprise customers across diverse industries.
Before working at Mason USA, I had the privilege to work with the HTC Vive hardware team. I worked with an XFN team to deliver many great solutions to AR and VR hardware projects, from creating a new input method for a VR environment to contributing to developing the latest VR HMD for the mass market.
God has given me the talent, and I am grateful to have the ability to bring new product ideas to life with people I love and who share the same goals and objectives. Nothing tastes better than seeing your work succeed. Please download my resume if interested, and do not hesitate to talk to me.
Thanks,
